Formula Dé Module

Formula Dé is a fast-paced racing game in which the cars' top speeds are limited by having to end a certain number of turns in each curve of the racetrack. This can be tricky, because although players can regulate their speeds by choosing which gear to be in and each gear allows a certain range of movement, the exact amount is determined randomly. Great fun for a big group.

  1. Can you generate the addon with the fixed version of vassal? the SVN one. I get all images green.

  2. There is a bug in VASSAL 3.2.3 and 3.2.4 that generates the images of the circuits with distorted colors. In the VASSAL Module Manager use Clear Tile Cache under the Tools menu. Then either use VASSAL 3.2.2 or the latest build of 3.2.5 or newer which fixes this.

    Find 3.2.5 builds here:

  6. I see several tracks in my VASSAL list with a XX version and an XXb version. On the screen they appear the same. What is the diffference? Cheers!

  7. The b versions have small changes, such as different corners, or different number of stops, or a custom bridge added.

    1. No, they won't be added soon. Unless you have them.

    2. Thanks. Good to know either way. I do have the physical version of the maps though and access to a standard size flatbed scanner,

I imagine scanning the 12 individual panels and stitching them together in a particular way is the first step.

Know of any resources where I could investigate how to do that? Thanks.

    3. I can stitch the pieces together. The pieces should have the same alignment (rotation), and either have some overlap to see what goes where, or be perfectly connecting on the sides with no skew problems.

    4. Great. I can give it a go. Does it need to be any certain file format or resolution?

      Delete
    5. Highest resolution you can manage. File format can be something lossless, TIFF, PNG (24 bit), PSD, or a high quality JPEG would still be ok too.
